SupPlant

SupPlant, is an Israeli precision agriculture startup providing hardware and software irrigation management solutions across Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, and Australia. The company provides AI-based software solution, using algorithms to analyze real-time data from plant, soil, and meteorological sensors. SupPlant develops its own sensors, dendrometers, and weather stations to gather crop data. As of June 2021, the company reported that it has collected data over 1,500 agricultural seasons.

The company's products are mainly used by fruit farmers to help reduce the percentage of cracked grapes to 10% compared to around 30% at farms that do not use SUPlant, for example. The company claims that the service will be available to even small growers and help optimize water usage. SupPlant expects the technology to be deployed by 500,000 farmers in Kenya by September 2021. The company is also targeting more than two million small growers in South Africa and India. With this target, it partnered with Moroccan company, Rahatech to offer its solutions and expand its services to Morocco. 

In August 2020, the company partnered with ClimaCell, a provider of weather forecasting information, to expand the provision of its services with small growers. The two companies aim to scale up operations to  eventually be able to provide their services at around USD 15 per year to farmers.

In March 2022 , the company raised USD 27 million in a funding round led by Red Dot Capital, bringing its total funds raised to over USD 46 million. The funds would support the development of its sensorless irrigation product, exploring new markets for its main product, and growing its headcount to more than 100 in 2022.
