Learning Pool

Learning Pool was founded in 2006 to increase online learning content distribution and collaboration within the UK public sector. The company now provides a suite of content and technology solutions for public and private sectors. As of December 2020, Learning Pool has been used by more than 3.5 million learners across more than 750 clients in 21 countries. Learning Pool's solutions include a traditional learning management system (LMS), the Stream learning experience platform (LXP), the Learning Locker learning record store (LRS), its Adapt Builder content authoring tool, a library of ready-made e-learning content catalogs, and custom e-learning content development services. In April 2021, the company announced the launch of Insights for learning data analysis using AI-powered dashboards for its Learning Pool LMS and Stream LXP. The feature is powered by Sisense, an AI-driven platform for analytic insights.

Learning Pool has grown through a series of acquisitions in line with its strategic growth objective. In December 2020, the company acquired Denver, Colorado-based Remote Learner, an LMS and learning technology company. Learning Pool also acquired Oxfordshire, UK-based HT2 Labs, a workplace learning technology provider and developer of Learning Locker and the Curatr social learning platform, in June 2019. Other acquisitions include the 2016 purchase LMS provider and bespoke e-learning developer, Mind Click, and Paper Bag, a mobile apps development agency acquired in 2013. The company’s most recent acquisition was in January 2022, when it acquired True Office Learning, a compliance learning technology firm, for an undisclosed sum, allowing it to expand its presence in North America.  

In March 2022, the company partnered with Focal Point Training (FPT), a workplace behavior and training platform, to develop programmes for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

In June 2021, Marlin Equity Partners acquired Learning Pool from Carlyle Cardinal Ireland which acquired the company in 2016.
