Brightside Health is a virtual app and web-based mental health platform that offers personalized treatment plans for anxiety and depression by matching users with psychiatrists, physicians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and therapists. Additionally, the company prescribes medication to adults who are diagnosed with anxiety or depression. Its proprietary PrecisionRX technology uses machine learning to predict treatment recommendations that assist clinical decisions, supporting more than 1,033 different treatment combinations. The company’s app also allows members to use a symptom and side-effect tracker that helps psychiatrists make proactive treatment alterations.

The company reported that its personalized treatment plans which combine medication and evidence-based therapy led to a significant improvement among 85% of its members while 70% achieved remission levels within the first 12 weeks of treatment. Brightside Health charges a monthly rate of USD 349 for video therapy sessions, unlimited messaging, medication delivery and monitoring. Customers can choose therapy or medication as stand-alone services, incurring a monthly rate of USD 299 for therapy and USD 95 for medication. 

In December 2022, the company launched a virtual suicide treatment offering for individuals who are actively suicidal or have recently made a suicide attempt and uses the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) framework.

The California-based company’s therapeutics services were available to 39 states in the US while residents in 35 states and Washington, D.C. had access to medication. In March 2022, the company raised USD 50 million in a Series B funding round led by ACME Capital and Mousse Partners which have been allocated to expand their team from 50 employees to an estimated 175, improve their platform, and increase their user base via partnerships.
