Mantle offers 3D printers with related materials and software for additive manufacturing (AM), targeting the tooling industry for custom tools, molds, and dyes. It prints components a layer at a time using Mantle's flowable metal paste while shaping it to precision using high-speed cutting. When shaped, components are heated in the company's specialized furnace and fused into complete solid parts. Customers can upload their CAD files and select the required material. They do not require specialized CNC programming skills, as it uses automatic toolpath generation technology. It also monitors printer health in real time to improve reliability and uptime. Mantle claims that it is the first company to create rough parts with precision finishing without requiring post-printing processing.
In September 2022, Mantle announced the launch of a series of printers that targets 3D printing of molds to be used in the making of injection-mold plastics.
Key customers and partnerships
As of September 2021, Mantle's customers, including contract manufacturers Tessy Plastics and a multinational medical device manufacturer, printed over one million end-user parts.
Funding and financials
Mantle’s recent funding round was a Series B that raised USD 25 million in September 2021 to expand the hardware, software, materials science, and manufacturing teams.
