Washington-based Zeva Aero is an innovative aerospace company that is focused on developing advanced eVTOL aircraft. With a vision to revolutionize urban air transportation, Zeva Aero has introduced two aircraft: the Argon and the Z2.
The Argon is an eVTOL aircraft designed for efficient and sustainable urban mobility. It features a sleek and futuristic design, equipped with multiple rotors for vertical takeoff and landing capabilities. The aircraft, which can fly a range of 330 nautical miles and cruise at 140 mph, is designed to be operated by a single pilot. Manufacturing slots for the Argon Kit were scheduled to open starting in October 2023, and the completion dates for the kits were expected to be in 2025. The estimated total purchase price of the Argon Kit is ~USD 677,000.
The Z2 is a simple eVTOL with no complex tilt-rotor mechanisms that includes layers of safety systems. The company began inititally testing the Z2 personal flying saucers, but changed its focus to the Argon as an eVTOL as two projects in parallel was a challenging feat with a limited budget.
Key customers and partnerships
As of May 2023, the company had selected a potential partner (whose name has not been disclosed) for a collaborative venture. The outcome of this partnership was expected to be an experimental kit-built airplane featuring four battery-powered rotors mounted on top of the wings.
Funding and financials
Zeva had raised over USD 700,000 in funding as of March 2023 , which includes investments from founders, families, and friends, as well as equity crowdfunding and a research grant from Washington state.
