Jasper Therapeutics develops therapeutics through the editing of mast cells and stem cells for the treatment of oncology, dermatology, anemia, hematology, auto-immune, and genetic diseases. The company’s therapeutics use the editing of cell mRNA and DNA to help overcome issues with regard to allogeneic and autologous gene-edited stem cell grafts. The company is listed on the Nasdaq and trades under the ticker symbol JSPR after a merger with Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) Amplitude Healthcare in May 2021. As of May 2024, the company had one therapeutic candidate, Briquilimab, which was being tested across multiple applications. For Mast Cell Diseases, Briquilimab was being tested for the treatment of Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria, Chronic Inducible Urticaria, and asthma. Its asthma application was in the preclinical stage, while its other two applications were in clinical testing phases. Briquilimab was also being tested for the treatment of two Stem Cell-related diseases, Low to Intermediate Risk Myelodysplastic Syndromes and Severe combined Immunodeficiency, both of which were in clinical testing phases. Jasper also had partner programs for treating Stem Cell-related diseases, testing Briquilimab for the treatment of Fanconi Anemia (in partnership with Stanford University), Sickle Cell Disease, Chronic Granulomatous Disease, and GATA2 MDS, all in partnership with the National Institute of Health.

Orgenesis is a provider of both cell-based therapies and gene-based therapies for the treatment of issues related to oncology, immunology, cariology, orthopedia, endocrinology. Specifically, the company develops therapeutics to treat cancer, genital warts, Covid-19, pancreatitis, liver, kidney and dermatological diseases, psoriasis, osteoarthritis, erectile dysfunction, musculoskeletal diseases, and acute and chronic kidney diseases. Orgenesis uses various technology models to develop its cell therapeutics, ranging from chimeric antigen receptor T cells, T cells, and natural killer cells. The company has commercialized two therapeutics that are used in clinical settings; Kyslecel for treatment of Chronic Pancreatitis and Cartil-S/Chondroseal for osteoarthritis. Through the partnership, RevaTis would build on its success in developing therapeutics to advance its candidate’s testing to human trials by using Orgenesis’s expertise and technology.Furthermore, in January 2022, the company partnered with Johns Hopkins to create the Maryland Center for Cell Therapy Manufacturing. The center was developed to manufacture cell and gene therapeutics which could be then used to treat patients being treated at Johns Hopkins.Orgenesis partnered with the University of California, Davis in June 2023 to boost access to gene and cell therapies in California. Through the partnership, Orgenesis Mobile Processing Units and Labs would be rolled out at multiple locations within the university grounds to provide on-site development and manufacturing of cell and gene therapies to help increase access to such therapies while reducing costs.In April 2024, the company announced that Orgenesis and Germfree, a modular cleanroom infrastructure and service provider, had signed an asset purchase and strategic partnership agreement. Through the partnership, Germfree would combine its expertise and manufacturing facility environments with Orgenesis’ processes and analytical development capabilities to reduce the production costs of cell and gene therapy products.

Orgenesis is a development stage company with a novel therapeutic approach in the treatment of diabetes by correcting malfunctioning organs with new functional tissues created from the patient’s own existing organs. Orgenesis employs a molecular and cellular approach directed at converting liver cells into functional insulin-producing cells as a treatment for diabetes. This new therapeutic approach is called Autologous Insulin Producing (AIP) cell transplantation.  Beta cell replacement is one of the most promising approaches for treatment of Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (IDDM). Currently, pancreas islet transplantation is the only approved cell replacement technology and it's the best available treatment for diabetics. However, it's impractical because of a shortage of donor tissue and rejection rate by the patient' immune system. Orgenesis believes that converting the diabetic patients own tissue to insulin producing cells will overcome the problem of donor shortage. Moreover, since the diabetic patient serves as his/her own donor, there is no risk of transplant rejection.  Orgenesis has manifested promising results in in-vitro and in-vivo studies using human liver tissues. Based on this significant discovery and these findings, Orgenesis has designed an efficient and clear work-plan to initiate clinical testing in the next few months allowing the company to launch phase I clinical trials following FDA guidelines followed by the launch of Phase II clinical trials within a year.
