UK-based Cervest is an AI-powered climate intelligence platform that enables organizations to detect and quantify climate risk at asset levels. The company extracts its data from a combination of public and private data sources, built through peer-reviewed research over five years, and integrates machine learning and statistical science to develop insights of climate-related risks to assets. Cervest claims to predict natural disasters up to the year 2100.
Cervest’s first product offering, EarthScan, provides enterprises and governments with quantification of physical climate risks, including heat stress, precipitation, flooding, wind, drought, and wildfires. EarthScan generates reports over multiple timescales, ranging from historic to future forecasts (1970-2100). EarthScan ratings provides a dashboard view of asset level risk, ranking from high to low. Cervest also offers EarthCap, a climate modeling platform for decision-making. EarthScience AI is the technology that backs EarthScan and EarthCap, creating foundational, asset-level intelligence over climate risk.
Key customers and partnerships
In May 2023, Cervest collaborated with Accenture via Accenture Ventures Project Spotlight Initiative, to scale up the latter’s climate risk prediction at asset and portfolio level across various industries. The company’s research and innovation partners include Google, PwC, Aibe, and ChargeNow. Other partners include Global Resilience Partnership, Tech Nation, and The Alan Turing Institute. EarthScan is accessible via a freemium model, with access to basic climate intelligence features. As of November 2022, Cervest conducted pilot stage testing with its R&D partners.
Funding and financials
In May 2021, the company raised a total of USD 30 million in a Series A funding round in two tranches led by Draper Esprit. The proceeds were to be used to expand its geographical footprint across the US and European markets.
