Wren primarily offers a subscription-based carbon footprint calculation and offsetting solution for individuals. Wren calculates the carbon footprint of an individual using a lifestyle survey based on research from UC Berkeley's CoolClimate Network. Users can then subscribe to offset their carbon footprint through Wren, which in turn funds verified third-party carbon offsetting projects such as community tree planting, biofuels, regenerative agroforestry, etc. using user subscriptions.
Wren offers a customized subscription fee for its users based on their carbon footprint. Users can also opt to offset either 50%, 100%, or 200% of their carbon footprint. The average subscription is around USD 23 per month. Wren’s take rate is around 20% of the cost of offsetting and is inclusive of the subscription fee.
As of March 2024, Wren had offset over 550,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. Wren also claims that its users are dispersed over 100 countries.
