Fazenda Futuro (also known as Future Farm), based in Brazil, is a plant-based meat and seafood startup. The startup uses ingredients like chickpeas, beans, soybeans, plant extracts, canola oil, coconut oil, sal, and beetroot, and True Texture Technology to replicate the texture and the mouthfeel of actual meat and fish. Fazenda Futuro’s plant-based portfolio includes Future Burger, Future Ground Beef, Future MeatBalls, Future Tuna, Future Sausage, and Future Tuna. In February 2024 , the company announced plans to roll out strategic product reformulations across its entire range. Through this initiative, the company aims to deliver products that closely mimic the taste, texture, and sensory properties of real meat.

As of February 2024,  these products were available in over 8,000 retail stores and food service outlets across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Australia.

Key customers and partnerships

In May 2022 , Brazilian pop superstar Anitta, partnered with the company with an undisclosed investment and is expected to leverage her influential social media following and brand-building knowledge to help scale up operations. In October 2022 , Fazenda Futuro was chosen by Australian plant-based burger chain Soul Burger, to be the official alternative meat supplier across. Further, the company partnered with prepared meal company Dineamic in November 2022 , to launch a range of plant-based ready meals in Australia.

Funding and financials

In October 2021, the startup raised USD 58 million in a Series C funding round, co-led by BTG and Rage Capital. The funds were used to distribute Future Farm’s plant-based meat products through retailers in Europe and the US and expand its product portfolio to include plant-based dairy products.
