 Rostock University Medical Centre is collaborating with Innocent Meat, a cell-cultured meat company, on a research project aimed at developing cultivated meat production. This project is financed by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
 Named MOSTIME, the project is centred around the creation of meat products cultivated from adult pig stem cells, eliminating the need for slaughter. The research team seeks to standardize procedures for reprogramming and electrical stimulation that maximize stem cell proliferation into consumable meat and expand production from small laboratory scale to large commercial scale.
 Preliminary results have demonstrated significant proliferation of skeletal muscle cells upon electrical stimulation. Furthermore, three programming procedures have been devised by the cardiac surgery working group. The research hopes to promote sustainability in production and lessen the environmental impact of agriculture. The project is scheduled to receive funding until 2025.
