BrightInsight provides a global platform for biopharma and medtech companies to develop and launch regulated digital health solutions. Founded in 2018, the company offers a SaaS infrastructure that accelerates the creation of companion apps, Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), algorithms, analytics dashboards, and other digital health products. The BrightInsight Platform is built on Google Cloud under a Quality Management System to support global security, privacy, and regulatory requirements. This allows customers to bypass lengthy "build from scratch" implementations and instead use configurable software solutions that comply with stringent regulations.
The company's offerings include a Disease Management Solution, which comprises tools like Patient Apps for patient engagement, healthcare Provider Interfaces for clinician portals and electronic health record (EHR) integration, and Analytics Dashboards for data analysis.
In July 2022, BrightInsight launched its Connected Diagnostics Platform, designed specifically for in vitro diagnostics manufacturers to streamline workflows and drive innovation. The platform aimed to provide unprecedented access to real-world data and actionable insights, enabling product innovation and new revenue streams.
Key customers and partnerships
Most recently, in May 2024, BrightInsight expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to incorporate AI technology into its Disease Management Solution to improve patient care and healthcare provider efficiency. By integrating Google Cloud's GenAI models into BrightInsight's solutions, patients were able to access information through an AI-powered chatbot, while healthcare providers could quickly identify issues with medication or treatments. Additionally, BrightInsight planned to gear up its internal operations by using this technology to troubleshoot issues and generate in-depth data analytics.
In January 2023, the company partnered with ixlayer, a health testing solutions provider, to add the company to its BrightInsight ecosystem. Through this partnership, drug companion apps can be developed which would incorporate ixlayer’s diagnostic testing and BrightInsight’s “Disease Management Solution.”
In September 2022, the company brought on Woebot Health, Xealth, and Clarita Rx to expand its network of healthcare providers and technology companies. The network, called the ‘BrightInsight Ecosystem,’ was launched earlier in the month to drive digital innovation, technology adoption, and customer engagement in the healthcare industry. The BrightInsight Ecosystem currently includes 20 providers of healthcare and technology solutions, including Google Cloud, Lyniate, and Roche. The ecosystem also includes four venture capital firms; Eclipse, General Catalyst, Insight Partners, and New Leaf Venture Partners.
Additionally in September 2022, the company announced it had joined the health assurance network of General Catalyst. The venture capital firm’s network focuses on encouraging collaboration between healthcare providers and technology companies. General Catalyst believes BrightInsight can help other entities within the network achieve scale and customer adoption of their respective solutions.
