Voyager Space is a developer of space infrastructure and a provider of on-orbit servicing and space debris management. As of 2023, the company was developing Starlab commercial space station–the first-ever free flying commercial space station–in collaboration with Nanoracks (where Voyager space is the majority stakeholder) and Lockheed Martin. The continuously crewed commercial space station would support commercial industrial activity and ensure continuing US presence and leadership in low-Earth orbit after the decommissioning of the ISS.

Since its inception, Voyager Space has acquired space tech-related companies to increase its portfolio of products and services. In January 2020, it acquired Altius Space Machines, which allowed for the development of DogTag and MagTag grapple fixtures that enables on-orbit servicing of satellites. The company also acquired commercial space infrastructure and services organization XO Markets and its subsidiaries Nanoracks, DreamUp, and Starlab Oasis in May 2021.

In March 2023, Voyager Space acquired aerospace engineering, design, and integration provider Zin Technologies for an undisclosed sum. By leveraging Zin Technologies’ industry expertise and close working relationships with entities such as NASA and DOD, Voyager Space aimed to bolster its capabilities in space infrastructure and technology, with a specific focus on the development of Starlab through this acquisition.

Key customers and partnerships

As of 2024, Voyager Space served over 500 customers from over 35 nations providing space solutions. The company is also part of NASA’s USD 160 million contract to design Starlab commercial space station as part of the agency’s Commercial Low-Earth orbit development program. In January 2023, Airbus Defense and Space entered into a partnership with the company to aid in the design, development, and operation of the same.

The company partnered with Palantir Technologies in June 2024 to incorporate Palantir’s AI tools into Voyager’s operations and payload system for the ISS and Starlab space station. In August 2024, Voyager partnered with Lockheed Martin to deliver a solid-propulsion subsystem for the US Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Next Generation Interceptor (NGI). In August 2024, the company also partnered with Maritime Launch Services providing technical support for the development of Spaceport Nova Scotia.
