Co-founded by Roxanne Petraeus and Anne Solmssen in 2020, Ethena’s mission is to deliver anti-harassment training to employees using five-minute micro lessons. The company seeks to differentiate itself by developing relevant content and using micro-learning to deliver its curriculum. The Ethena platform is available as an annual subscription charged per employee. The company’s monthly training was being used by 20,000 active employees across more than 150 clients as of July 2021.
In August 2022, the firm launched its “Code of Conduct'' training that aims to transform training within public companies from being a “check-the-box” activity to one that addresses a company's values.
Funding and financials
In February 2021, Ethena raised USD 2 million in funding to expand the company’s offering beyond anti-sexual harassment training to include a variety of compliance-related training courses in response to demand from existing customers. In July, the company raised USD 15.5 million in a Series A funding round to expand the platform’s course library and increase headcount.
