Good PLANet Foods

Seattle-based GOOD PLANeT Foods produces Slices, Shreds, Wedges, Smoked Wheel cheeses out of coconut oil and plant starches at a facility in Greece.

The product is free from allergens such as dairy, gluten, soy, fish and shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, and eggs. GOOD PLANeT initially launched its plant-based cheese to foodservice channels in late 2018 and retail channels in early 2019. Its products are available at leading retailers, including Walmart, Costco, Whole Food, and Safeway and was distributed across 1,200 retail locations in the US, as of March 2022. In September 2022 , the company launched new plant-based cheese, fruit and nut snack packs.

In September 2023 , the company launched a new line of olive oil cheese products. The new range comes in three formats (cheese shreds, cubes, and blocks) and offers different varieties like Greek-style feta, Italian-style mozzarella, and sharp cheddar.

Funding and financials

In May 2020, the company raised USD 12 million in a Series A funding round led by Cleveland Avenue, with participation from GreatPoint Ventures, Tasseo Consumer, Stray Dog Capital, and Lever VC. The funding will be allocated toward product development, expansion, sales, and marketing.
