Stockeld Dreamery

Stockeld Dreamery (formerly known as Noquo Foods) is a Swedish plant-based cheese developer experimenting with legumes forming a “stable matrix” that the startup believes will allow it to melt, move, and taste like animal cheese. The company’s first product- “Stockeld Chunk” debuted in May 2021, made using fermented legumes- pea and fava. Stockeld Dreamery believes its use of legumes helps it create a better plant-based cheese compared to most plant-based cheeses that are made from coconut oil and starch, which gives the cheese a rubbery feel and bad aftertaste. In February 2024, the company launched MELT, a plant-based cheddar cheese product developed by combining high-protein pea milk and traditional cheese fermentation techniques

Stockeld Dreamery products are available in selected restaurants in Sweden. The startup intends to make the products available in major groceries and extend the distribution in restaurants in the future.

Key customers and partnership

In July 2024, Stockeld Dreamery partnered with New York City-based deli in-store concept Plantega to offer its MELT Cultured Cheddar across more than 60 bodegas in New York, increasing the availability of plant-based cheese in convenience stores. During the same month, the company partnered with the vegan fast food chain Mr. Charlie's to introduce the "Mr. Royale with Cheese" burger.
