Wunderkind, previously known as BounceX, is an AdTech platform that allows brands and publishers to enhance their digital customer relationships by delivering personalized experiences. The platform uses predictive modeling to gather data and insights on web visitors' behavior in real-time and historically, both on desktop and mobile devices. The company provides two primary products: 1) an ad personalization solution that sends personalized messages via text and email for lead generation (primarily aimed at publishers, ecommerce, and travel sector firms) and 2) Wunderkind Ads, a demand-side ad platform (DSP) that helps advertisers discover premium large-format display ads, targeting both publishers and media agencies. As of March 2023, Wunderkind had a range of clients, including 1,000+ brands and publishers like Rag & Bone, Uniqlo, Sonos, See's Candy, HelloFresh, Forever 21, Refinery29, and Clarins.

Wunderkind's competitive advantage lies in its ability to identify visitors based on the web page that referred them and their ongoing activity. As a result, the company claimed that its ad personalization solution led to a 9x increase in triggered email revenue, a 4x increase in submission volume, and up to 25% more last-click revenue for its users. Additionally, Wunderkind ads have been found to boost click-rates by 8x, improve viewability by 2.6x, and increase qualified engagement by 31%.

Wunderkind also strengthened its product offering by acquiring 1) SmarterHQ,a personalization platform built on a CDP infrastructure, in November 2020, to launch targeted ad campaigns and create audience segments based on user behavior, and 2) direct marketing startup GoChime in June 2016, which was integrated into the Wunderkind platform as “Behavioral Audiences.”

Key customers and partnerships

Wunderkind has a partner ecosystem for technology partners and marketing agencies. The platform can also be integrated with enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions and ecommerce platforms such as Oracle, Contentsquare, and Shopify.

Funding and financials

In March 2023, the company raised USD 76 million in a Series C funding round led by Neuberger Berman. The funds were to be allocated to product development, increasing the workforce, and exploring new markets. The company planned to introduce several new features on its platform, such as a one-on-one messaging service for advertisements, a "discovery" function tailored to ecommerce businesses, and personalized product recommendations based on customers' preferences and past interactions.

Wunderkind also reported an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of USD 100 million in 2020, while in 2022, its revenue increased by 35% compared with the previous year.
