Raycast is a productivity application for macOS that serves as a replacement for Apple's built-in Spotlight search. It allows users to quickly launch apps, execute commands, search files, and perform various other actions all from an intuitive command bar interface.
Raycast was first released in 2022 and gained popularity among Mac power users and developers for its highly customizable and extensible nature. Raycast comes with features like powerful search functionality, window management tools, clipboard history, snippets (text expansion), and much more out-of-the-box.
Raycast offers a smooth, modern user experience with a unified design across its interface and extensions. It aims to reduce context switching and increase productivity by allowing users to complete most tasks without leaving the keyboard. In November 2024, Raycast revamped its Floating Notes feature and renamed it Raycast Notes.
