Raycast, a software engineer-focused productivity tool, has raised USD 15 million in a Series A funding round led by Accel and Coatue, with participation from a group of angel investors, including Koen Bok (CEO, Framer), Karri Saarinen (CEO, Linear), David Cramer (CEO, Sentry), and Johnny Boufarhat (CEO and founder, Hopin). This follows its USD 2.7 million seed funding round in October 2020.

 • The fresh funds will be used for product development, platform growth, and headcount expansion, with plans to hire more employees to its current team of 12 members by the end of the year.

 • The company also announced its Extensions API and Store, which allows developers to build custom third-party extensions. The Raycast community has already developed more than 100 extensions, including Figma file search, home automation, and GitLab integration. These features will extend to developer teams in early access, allowing users to create internal stores to build and distribute custom extensions.
