The UK-based developer of productivity tools, Raycast, launched in public beta with a USD 2.7 million funding round led by Accel. The round included participation from Y Combinator, Chapter One, and multiple individual investors. The new funding is to be used to add more integrations to its platform.
The company also announced the launch of its developer program, granting early access to its API, which can be used to create custom extensions.
Raycast is available for Mac users and will be offered for free while in public beta. The company will eventually implement subscription pricing. The product will be aimed at individual users in the immediate term, with an enterprise team product in the pipeline.
Raycast, an alumnus of the Y Combinator, has been operating in private beta since January 2020. It is a tool that provides software engineers with quick access to their tools and other non-coding tasks from a central platform. Developers can see an overall view of tasks and deadlines from external apps that Raycast supports. Currently, Raycast supports a handful of integrations with tools such as Asana, Jira, Zoom, Google Workspace, and GitHub.
