Activision Blizzard signed an exclusive broadcasting deal with Seven.One: The deal will provide Seven.One Sports, the sports business unit of Seven.One Entertainment Group, exclusive linear TV broadcasting rights to selected German-language Call of Duty League events in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The length or financial details of the deal were not disclosed. This announcement follows Blizzard’s multi-year exclusive rights deal in April 2021 with Chinese streaming platform Bilibili for its Overwatch League in China.
Imperial Esports sold team naming rights to Sportsbet.io: The Brazilian esports team organization announced that it has sold the teams naming rights to the betting website Sportsbet.io. Sportsbet.io was an existing team sponsor but the relationship is elevated with this announcement as the organization will now be called Imperial Sportsbet.io. The length or terms of the contract were not disclosed. As per the team’s CEO, Felippe Martins, Sportsbet.io is slated to be heavily involved in the team’s planned investments which include the expansion of its Counter Strike team to North America, announced in April 2021.
