Micromobility

The following report was prepared and published by our sister platform SPEEDA—January 2024.

Trend Overview

Micromobility Solutions Help Mitigate Urban Transport Issues

Micromobility (MM) refers to the use of small, lightweight, and often electric-powered vehicles for urban transport, including e-scooters, bikes, e-bikes, and compact three-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. These MM vehicles are commonly shared among users.
The concept of MM emerged in response to urban traffic congestion. Vehicle congestion deteriorates air quality and deprives time. These factors collectively impede the overall functionality and comfortness of urban residents and commuters.
This report focuses on companies that either manufacture or provide access to such vehicles, through ownership and sharing, for short-distance trips.
