Kiwibot has partnered with French food service and facilities management giant Sodexo to roll out its robot food delivery service at the University of Denver. The company is also in discussion with the city of Denver about implementing off-campus bot deliveries some time in October.
A fleet of 15 droids will be launched at the university to deliver food during weekdays at a flat delivery fee of USD 2.5 per order.
The partnership with Sodexo might help fast-track Kiwibot’s wider campus rollouts, as Sodexo offers dining services for approximately 600 colleges and universities across North America.
The news comes just two weeks after Kiwibot’s rival Starship announced a similar partnership with food service provider Aramark to roll out its delivery droids at Arizona State University's Tempe campus.
Starship also has an existing partnership with Sodexo (which it entered into in January 2019) to run droid deliveries for several colleges including George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. However, under Starship’s program, orders can be made only via the Starship app, while Kiwibot’s program is integrated with Sodexo’s food ordering app.
