Skycart announces the development of “Nimbus,” a four-drop delivery drone

Product updates

  • Skycart, a delivery drone developer, announced the development of its patent-pending drone model dubbed “Nimbus,” designed to carry four separate packages in a single flight. The company claims this is the first of its kind in the world.

  • Nimbus is capable of traveling at a speed of 80 mph, covering 100 miles, carrying a maximum payload of roughly 33 lbs. The company claims the Nimbus drones could reduce labor costs by up to 52.5% and maintenance costs by 75% compared to using standard drones.

  • The company primarily pitches the drone toward delivering medical supplies, groceries, and e-commerce deliveries.

  • Skycart is a California-based startup developing automated delivery drones for last mile delivery (for deliveries within 30 minutes or less). Designed using a combination of drone hardware, software, artificial intelligence (AI), a mobile application, and cloud technology, the drones are fully autonomous throughout the trip.
