Pablo Air joins consortium; brings drone-based deliveries to New York

 • Pablo Air, a South Korean company specializing in drone-based logistics, has joined a consortium led by Electric Visionary Aircrafts (EVA), a drone infrastructure provider, to participate in a project on drone delivery in New York. The project, which starts in April 2022, grants Pablo Air exclusive drone operation rights.

 • It will be conducted at two locations in New York, with Pablo Air delivering cargo by drones from Griffiss International Airport (GIA), in Oneida county, to a station in Syracuse, covering approximately 50 miles.

 • The drone corridor for the project was developed by GIA, Thales, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and NASA—members of the Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research Alliance (NUAIR) Alliance.

 • Pablo Air has also engaged in various research and development (R&D) projects in Arizona and New York including an ongoing R&D project with EVA.

Analyst QuickTake: This partnership is part of Pablo Air’s plans to scale operations globally; for which the company raised USD 8 million in a pre-Series B funding round in July this year. The company established a US subsidiary in June and announced planned operations in Phoenix, Arizona in August. New York would be the second state the company is expanding its reach to. In June this year, its peer, DroneUp, also concluded a project to test the feasibility of medical deliveries by drones in Syracuse, New York, in collaboration with NUAIR and SUNY Upstate Medical University.
