Skyports, a UK-based drone logistics company, has partnered with Australian drone-based health logistics provider Swoop Aero to expand its drone delivery services across the UK.
Skyports will utilize Swoop Aero’s aviation platform (includes operations and mission management, ground control, software, and hardware) and its drones in its delivery services, including on-demand delivery of medical essentials such as vaccines, medicines, and pathology samples to rural areas on behalf of the National Health Service (NHS), UK.
The news comes just a month after Skyports joined the consortium of companies led by Royal Mail to launch a drone delivery service trial for residents of the Isle of Mull, Scotland. Previously, in July 2020, the company partnered with healthcare organisations to make hospital-to-hospital Covid-19-related medical deliveries on a trial basis in the Scottish Highlands.
Skyports owns and operates both passenger and cargo vertiports (vertical landing and take-off sites) for urban aviation and manages end-to-end drone deliveries for the medical, e-commerce, and logistics industries.
