<ul><li>GoCardless, an open banking infrastructure provider, has teamed up with leading buy-now-pay-later company Klarna , enabling Klarna to offer bank debit payments to its 21 million customers in the US for its “Pay in 4” offering and financing solution.</ul>
The partnership supports GoCardless’ plans to expand its operations in the US, which already includes US customers such as DocuSign and 8x8. The company reportedly doubled its US headcount in 2021 and plans to further expand it by 125% in 2022.
The two companies first partnered in the UK in 2018, and Klarna has leveraged off of GoCardless’s global bank debit network to access multiple markets through one platform.
GoCardless is a British company offering an open banking platform for merchants to collect recurring and one-off payments directly from customer bank accounts. The platform also offers a global bank debit network, enabling merchants to access multiple markets through its platform (more than 30 countries as of September 2021).
