Function of Beauty sells custom hair products at Target supermarkets

  • Function of Beauty, a developer of customized beauty products, has introduced its range of custom hair care products at Target supermarkets.

  • The customer can choose one of four base formulas, depending on the type of hair, along with up to three out of 10 available ingredients (known as boosters) depending on the expected outcome (such as strengthening, anti-frizz, shine, volumize, etc.) to make custom shampoos and conditioners. If further customization is required, customers will be directed to the Function of Beauty webpage through Target’s website.

  • Function of Beauty, which operates as a D2C online brand, is a developer of custom hair, skin, and body care products formulated based on an online quiz using an algorithm capable of offering around 12 billion custom combinations. While the company’s initial focus was on hair care, it expanded into body care in July 2020 and into skincare in October 2020.
