Twelve, a carbon transformation startup, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Exosonic, a supersonic transport startup, to develop sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) compatible with Exosonic’s jet engines.
For the development, Exosonic and Twelve will receive support from the US Air Force (USAF) through independent small business innovation research (SBIR) contracts funded by the Air Force Research Laboratory.
<ul><li>Both companies have already been receiving support and funding guidance from the USAF to speed up their research activities and growth opportunities. In October 2021 , Twelve collaborated with USAF to produce the first batch of fossil-free jet fuel, called E-Jet. Exosonic has received support from USAF for the development and modification of its commercial supersonic airliner.</ul>
