Zoom’s previously announced acquisition of cloud-based call center platform Five9 has been terminated through a mutual agreement. A majority of Five9’s shareholders had voted to reject it.
<ul><li>The verdict reportedly follows a recommendation from proxy advisory firm Institutional Shareholder Service to reject the acquisition on account of Zoom’s slowing growth. The acquisition, which was announced in July 2021 , also came under US regulatory scrutiny on national security grounds recently .</ul>
Following the termination of the deal, Zoom and Five9 will continue their existing partnership on contact center services.
