Energy Vault, a Swiss gravity and kinetic-energy-based long-duration energy storage company, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indian power generation utility National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ltd. to deploy energy storage technology in India.
Under the partnership, Energy Vault and NTPC will enter a long-term strategic agreement to deploy Energy Vault’s EVx gravity-based energy storage technology and software solutions, providing a joint feasibility study. The proprietary technology also utilizes coal ash for manufacturing composite blocks for Energy Vault’s gravity-based energy storage system.
