Anaergia, a TSX-listed waste-to-energy company, announced the commissioning of its Easy Energia Ambiente facility in Italy.
The new facility will convert 36,450 tons of organic waste into 3.215 million cubic meters of renewable natural gas (RNG) per annum, by utilizing Anaergia’s proprietary digestion technology. The remains of the anaerobic digestion process will be used to create 4,500 tons of natural fertilizer per year.
Anaergia led the project as the technology provider and will own and operate the facility in the long term. The company has plans to deploy six more RNG facilities in Italy, with five facilities to be commissioned in 2022 and the sixth in 2023.
