Cameo, a creator platform to monetize personalized videos and shoutouts to fans, has laid off approximately a quarter of its staff (87 employees including a few senior executives).
The company cited the recent changes in the market conditions after a period of rapid headcount expansion fueled by the pandemic as the reason for the layoffs. The company went from 100 employees to 400 during the pandemic, as many creators turned to the platform after other projects were put on hold.
