VitroLabs, a California-based cell-cultured leather startup, has raised USD 46 million in Series A funding led by Agronomics. Investors including Invest FWD (investment arm of clothing company BESTSELLER), Kering, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Regeneration VC also joined the round.
The funds will support the company in accelerating commercialization of its sustainable leather product, scaling up its operations, and also finance the construction of a pilot manufacturing facility.
Following the round, Kering is also expected to support VitroLabs in product quality testing, tanning, and finishing under an existing partnership agreement.
