Bolliger Motors selects Roush as its EV manufacturing partner

Partnerships

 • Bollinger Motors, a developer of Class 3–6 electric truck platforms for OEMs, has selected automotive company Roush as a contract manufacturer to assemble its truck platforms and chassis cabs for commercial vehicles.

 • As per the deal, Bollinger Motors will supply all required materials for Roush, upon which the platforms and chassis will be assembled at the latters’ facility in Livonia, Michigan.

 • The companies will work together to assemble pre-production units and conduct validation testings of the same, ahead of series production. Bollinger Motors is optimistic this partnership would help the company achieve its quality and production targets. However, neither party has yet revealed when the manufacturing would begin.

Analyst QuickTake: Today’s partnership furthers Bolliger Motors' goal of bringing its commercial truck platforms to the market. At first, the company came into play with plans to develop electric trucks for both consumer and commercial customers. However, the company postponed its consumer truck production and delivery earlier this year, shifting focus to its commercial truck business. At the time, the company noted that bringing the consumer models to production would require more money and time, which the company needed to devote to its commercial vehicles segment.
