Cubiq Foods, a Spanish startup developing cultured fat, has raised EUR 5.75 (~USD 6 million) in a bridge financing round led by investors including Cargill, Moira Capital Partners, SGEIC, and Newtree Impact.
The funds will support Cubiq Foods to expand its operations in North America and Europe as well as launch its first cultivated fat-based ingredient for plant-based meat products by 2023. The company also plans to launch “Go!Mega3” later this year, its new generation micro-encapsulated omega-3 for high omega-3 content foods.
Cargill will also be joining Cubiq Foods as a strategic partner as part of its investment, which includes a product development partnership and a commercial agreement to market and sell Cubiq Foods’ products.
