Full Harvest raises USD 5 million in Series B funding; appoints new CTO and CFO

Funding

Full Harvest, a US-based B2B platform that sells irregular and surplus produce, has raised another USD 5 million in an oversubscribed Series B funding round led by Rabobank’s Food & Agri Innovation Fund and JAL Innovation Fund. The company previously raised USD 25 million in Series B funding in December 2021.

  • The funding supports Full Harvest in improving its digital marketplace and will also help in expanding its footprint into the international markets over the next few years.

  • Full Harvest states that its B2B marketplace tools now improve the online imperfect produce buying/selling process and more products are now verified using its “Verified Rescued Produce” system. The company reports that it is working toward a target to scale its operations to solve the USD 2.6 trillion global food waste problem.

  • Alongside the funding raise, the company has also appointed experienced online marketplace executives Nicolas Genest as chief technology officer (CTO) and Brenton Keath as the chief financial officer (CFO).

    • Genest is the founder and CEO of Codebox and has experience working as a CTO at leading digital businesses such as Walmart eCommerce, The RealReal, ModCloth, and Veepee.

    • Keath, former CFO/COO of Rakuten Medical, brings experience in handling M&A and finance teams in top companies such as KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Hewlett-Packard across Australia, Japan, and the US.

  • At Full Harvest, Genest will lead the company’s marketplace expansion plans, while Keath will guide the company’s financial strategy. The new CTO and CFO are also expected to support Full Harvest in entering new markets, strengthening industry partnerships, and expanding its distribution channels.

  • Full Harvest also appointed Co-founder of OlioBox Inc. and Farmgrub.com Omar Chaudhry as vice president (VP) of product. Chaudhry has experience in heading product management at The RealReal, Modcloth, and Veepee. At Full Harvest, Chaudhry will support the continued product development strategy to improve user experience.
