Partnerships

 • Innovatrics, a biometrics solutions provider based in Slovakia, has partnered with Blaize, a provider of edge computing solutions, to develop ready-to-use facial recognition solutions for access control and public security.

 • The two companies will combine “SmartFace Embedded” technology by Innovatrics and Blaize’s low power and low latency AI inference solution “Pathfinder P1600 Embedded System on Module (SoM),” to enable real-time processing of data.

 • Using this new cloud-to-edge approach, cameras can be made smart to process video streams, making them more suitable for application in smart cities, smart retail, safety, and security.

Analyst QuickTake: Innovatrics entered into a similar partnership earlier in March this year with Ambarella to enable face detection directly on original equipment manufacturer (OEM) devices. The new partnership with Blaize also serves a similar purpose by moving the processing of video streams to the edge from the cloud, making it faster and more suitable for facial recognition applications like public security and access control.
