Easy park partners with Renault to add smart parking to its latest EVs

Partnerships

  • EasyPark Group, a leading smart parking solutions provider in Europe, announced a collaboration with French automobile manufacturer Renault, to integrate the Easypark app Into Renault’s new electric vehicle (EV) model Megane E-Tech Electric.

  • Drivers would be able to directly access the app's features within the car’s infotainment system, “OpenR Link,” which is based on the Android operating system. In addition, drivers would have access to several new features including “Autostop,” which automatically ends the parking session when the car leaves a parking spot.

  • The firm also announced that, going forward, the app will be available for download via Google Play Store for all OpenR Link-supported vehicles.

  • The firm has entered similar partnerships with other car brands including Volvo, Polestar, and Mercedes-Benz.

Analyst QuickTake: With its established presence covering over 3,000 European cities, EasyPark is well poised to enter into partnerships with Renault and other European car brands. As EVs gain in popularity and infotainment systems become a standard vehicle feature, park & go apps such as the Easypark app are likely to experience increased usage given the added convenience. It also opens up greater potential for introducing a new service offering that leverages features of the infotainment system such as voice-enabled control and a vehicle’s IoT sensors for automated access control to parking spaces.
