Meati, a Colorado-based plant-based meat startup specializing in manufacturing whole-cut meat alternatives using mycelium has announced the launch of its first steak filet product.
The product is said to be 95% mycelium and contains salt, vegetable juice, oat fiber, natural flavoring, fruit juice, and lycopene for color. According to the producers, the alternative steak can be pan-seared, baked, or grilled much like a regular cut of meat.
The 4-oz serving comes as a whole-cut filet and will be sold Direct to Customer (DTC) via the company website starting May 23 at a price of USD 35 for four filets.
