SiMa.ai raises USD 30 million Series B funding

Funding

 • SiMa.ai, a system-on-chips (SoC) manufacturer for edge computing, raised a further USD 30 million in Series B funding from Fidelity Management & Research Company with participation from Lip-Bu Tan and previous investors. This brings SiMa’s total Series B funding to USD 110 million and its total funding to USD 150 million.

 • The funds will be used to scale the company’s engineering and business teams globally and invest in hardware and software product development.

Analyst QuickTake : SiMa.ai offers a similar solution to Kneron , Syntiant , and Blaize , all of which raised funding in the past year (Syntiant raised USD 55 million in March; Kneron raised USD 25 million last December; Blaize raised USD 71 million last July). This round puts SiMa.ai marginally ahead of its competition in terms of total funding, with Kneron, Syntiant, and Blaize having USD 115 million, USD 136 million, and USD 120 million, respectively.
