Solana, a blockchain infrastructure provider, went down for over four hours due to a bug that stopped block production and knocked the network out of consensus.
Validators restarted the Solana network after disabling the feature responsible for causing the bug. It went on to publicly state that the bug will be fixed in a future update.
<ul><li>Analyst Quicktake: This marks the second time in just over a month that the Solana network experienced a major breakdown that saw network validators knocked out of consensus and block production halted. Previously, the breakdown was caused due to an influx of bots to the NFT minting tool Candy Machine, which pushed the network to implement a slew of measures to curb excess traffic on the blockchain.</ul>
