Delivery droid manufacturer Cartken exits stealth with autonomous delivery trial in Miami

Product updates

  • Cartken, an autonomous delivery droid manufacturer emerging from stealth, has partnered with REEF Technology, an operator of parking facilities and neighborhood hubs, to launch delivery robots in downtown Miami. This partnership marks Cartken’s first large-scale deployment.

  • Upon successful test runs, the REEF-branded robots deliver orders from REEF’s network of delivery-only kitchens to customers within a three-quarter-mile radius. The robots are insulated for heat preservation and are stationed at REEF’s logistical hubs, from which partner kitchens can dispatch them. In addition, REEF Technology helps Cartken in mapping the area for robots.

  • REEF plans to expand delivery robot services to Fort Lauderdale, Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York and aims to integrate major food delivery platforms.

  • California-based Cartken, founded by ex-Google engineers, develops AI-powered autonomous delivery droids operated via machine learning and rule-based programming algorithms for safe navigation.
