80 Acres Farms, a US-based vertical farm that produces greens, herbs, and vegetables, has announced that it’s building a new farm in Covington, Georgia. The company is reportedly investing USD 120 million to build the largest farm in its network.
Construction of the farm has already begun at the Industrial Park Boulevard in Covington and is expected to be completed by August 2022. The farm is expected to become operational from early 2023 when distribution to retailers will also begin. The company will produce leafy greens, microgreens, vine crops, and fruit crops and claims that the farm will produce 4x times the produce of its Ohio farm (its largest to date) all year round.
