HappyVore raises EUR 35 million in funding

Funding

  • HappyVore (formerly Les Nouveaux Fermiers), a French startup specializing in plant-based meats, has raised EUR 35 million (~USD 36.83 million) in funding led by Invus with participation from Adrien de Schompre, Philippe Cantet, Remi Douchet, and Gregoire Kaufman.

  • The funding will go toward the development of its industrial production plant in Chevilly, France. The company claimed this new facility will have the capacity to produce over 10,000 tons of aiguillettes, nuggets, chipolatas, and other vegetable-based alternative meats.

  • Founded in 2019, HappyVore produces plant-based meat alternatives and has gone from the R&D phase to full-scale commercialization by 2020. Its portfolio contains over 20 products, which include nuggets, sausages, and burgers, available through retail, foodservice, and online.
