Riverlane and Rigetti partner for error correction solutions

Partnerships

  • Full-stack quantum computing company Rigetti Computing (US) and quantum software company Riverlane (UK) have entered into a partnership to jointly research error correction solutions in superconducting quantum computers. The terms and financial details of the partnership have not been disclosed.

  • The partnership—funded by Innovate UK with a grant of GBP 0.5 million (USD 0.6 million)—will leverage Rigetti’s hardware capabilities and Riverlane’s software expertise to work on syndrome extraction—an error correction method in which additional “syndrome” qubits are used to gather and analyze the errors that are present in the main qubits—to reduce errors in the computer.
