TMRW Foods, a Canada-based company producing plant-based meat alternatives announced it has raised CAD 2 million (~USD 1.5 million) in a funding round with investments coming from Philip Donne, former CEO of Kellogg’s Canada, TELUS Pollinator Fund for Good, and existing stakeholders.
The funding is expected to facilitate the company’s expansion efforts into North America, which includes eight product launches across US Sprout Farmers Market locations in August. This launch will increase TMRW Foods’ retail footprint to 6,000 locations from its current 1,500.
TMRW Foods, launched in 2018, produces plant-based meat alternatives utilizing its proprietary TMRW protein made from pea protein isolates, brown rice concentrate, and oat flour as well as a blend of wholefood ingredients such as kidney beans, split peas, quinoa, and hemp seeds. Its portfolio includes over 10 products that are available both online and via retailers.
