Cartken partners with DPD to launch droid-based deliveries in Milton Keynes, UK

Partnerships

 • Cartken, an autonomous delivery droid manufacturer, has partnered with international parcel delivery company DPD to commence droid-based deliveries for the latter’s customers in Milton Keynes, UK. This marks Cartken’s entry into the UK market.

 • The DPD-branded droids from Cartken will be deployed from DPD’s Knowlhill deport to deliver parcels to residents in Shenley Church End and Shenley Lodge areas in Milton Keynes.

 • DPD plans to extend the service across the city depending on the success of the trial.

Analyst QuickTake: When it comes to droid-based deliveries in Miton Keynes, peer startup Starship Technologies already has well established operations in the area, and thus would be a major competitor to Cartken if it is to expand operations in Milton Keynes. Furthermore, today’s news comes on the heels of Cartken partnering with Grubhub to deploy its droids at university campuses in the US—one of the major deals Cartken has entered into so far.
