Dorian, a no-code platform that allows female creators to convert their fiction stories into choose-your-own-adventure games, has acquired Nix Hydra Games, a mobile gaming studio, along with their two popular Otome-style titles Fictif and The Arcana: A Mystic Romance.
Founded in 2012, Nix Hydra Games aims to use video games and interactive storytelling to empower disadvantaged communities. Its apps have been downloaded by over six million users. Fictif and The Arcana both have active fan communities and have over 300 episodes combined.
Fictif and The Arcana apps will operate separately; however, the acquisition will allow creators to create fan fiction and spin-off stories using the art and lore from the original IPs. Dorian’s livestreaming feature is also expected to enable Arcana’s cosplay community (which has over 300 million views on TikTok) to roleplay characters from these games while interacting with fans live.
