Estonia-based Cleveron, a provider of automated parcel lockers and click-and-collect solutions, has launched its autonomous delivery vehicle (ADV) “Cleveron 701” in its home country after six months of testing. This marks the company’s entry into the autonomous last-mile delivery space.
Cleveron 701 can travel at a maximum speed of 30 mph, carrying a payload of up to 500 lbs. The vehicle is equipped with an adaptable semi-autonomous platform customizable for various delivery needs, such as groceries, temperature-controlled products, and parcels.
The ADV is mainly pitched toward retailers and logistics companies, with plans to begin mass production in 2023.
In comparison, Nuro, one of the most prominent startups in the last-mile ADV space, develops vehicles that can travel at a maximum speed of 25 mph carrying a payload up to 420 lbs.
