upGrad acquires recruitment solution provider Wolves India

M&A

 • upGrad Rekrut, a subsidiary of online higher education platform upGrad, acquired recruitment firm Wolves India for an undisclosed amount. This marks the company’s third acquisition for the year.

 • The acquisition is expected to strengthen upGrad’s tech placement portfolio with the integration of Wolves India. Post-acquisition, Wolves India will become a part of upGrad Rekrut and operate independently under the leadership of Raghu S, founder and director of Wolves India.

 • Founded in 2015, Wolves India is a recruitment and staffing firm that specializes in placing tech talent across startups and mid to large organizations globally. Its proprietary solution “Quasara” allows businesses to set up offshore offices. The company reported that it had completed 5,000+ placements to date.

Analyst QuickTake: The acquisition of Wolves India supports the company’s announcement in May 2022, where it planned to increase its headcount by August 2022 to 6,500–7,000 from 4,000. The company aims to use Wolves India’s ecosystem to generate a range of employment opportunities for its learners in terms of career enhancement and better-paid tech-related employment opportunities.
